Today's Gospel shows religious leaders rallying around political survival rather than truth. Caiaphas didn't ask 'Is this man from God?' He asked 'How do we keep power?' Every political coalition, left or right, faces the same temptation to sacrifice truth on the altar of unity (CCC 2242).
